Invitation from the ARPA President

I am proud to introduce to you the 5th Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA) National Injury Management Conference at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, entitled Roadmap To Resilience in the Changing World of Work.

Once again the ARPA Conference pushes through the frontiers of current thinking and approaches and challenges us to engage new ideas and methodologies to achieve our aspiration of helping to create healthier, happier and more resilient individuals, organisations and communities.

This conference will challenge us to consider how building resiliency and resilience allows the human spirit to evolve and thrive, despite adversity. We will hear great words of wisdom and experience from Professor Glenn E. Richardson, a leading expert and researcher in the field. We will learn about the innovative work being done by our local researchers who are applying the skills and techniques to build resilience and overcome adversity in police officers. And our neighbours in New Zealand will share their experiences working with individuals and communities in the aftermath of the Christchurch Earthquakes. This presentation is aptly titled: Re-building a meaningful life, restoring wellness and returning to work.

Finally we will be privileged to hear the journey of heroic individuals who have overcome their own personal circumstances and challenges and will provide us with a unique insight into their perspective on resilience.

I look forward to seeing you in Melbourne from the 20th to 22nd May 2012.

Annette Williams

President
Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association
